James T. Troup Jim
Troup first encountered the concept of structured settlements
while working with recipients of large personal injury awards
and settlements at United Bank of Arizona, where he was a
commercial loan officer. Having five years experience observing
the pitfalls encountered by these individuals, it was easy for
Jim to become committed to periodic payments as the most
effective method of compensating severely injured plaintiffs.
Jim spent
equal parts of his youth in Boston, North Carolina and Arizona,
including attending the prestigious Phillips Academy in Andover,
Mass. Jim graduated from the University of North Carolina with
degrees in Economics and Political Science in 1980 and earned
his Masters in Business Administration two years later at the
Whittemore School of Business at the University of New
Hampshire.
Jim is fully securities licensed and has taken many continuing
education programs concentrating on financial planning,
including the Connecticut General Life Insurance training
program. Connecticut General pioneered the practice of
financial planning. He has received numerous awards for
exceptional performance by both life and investment companies
including National Life's Presidents' Club.
Jim is entering his twentieth year as a structured settlement
consultant and estimates he has been involved in the settlement
of close to one billion dollars of personal injury claims. Like
most structured settlement professionals who began in the
mid-1980s, when Jim started he worked primarily for the defense
with Structured Financial Associates and Huver & Associates.
Jim recognized that the injured party was being woefully
underserved and began working with plaintiff attorneys and their
clients. In 1994 he joined Summit Settlement Services because
they offered him the opportunity to concentrate on working for
the plaintiff.
In 2002, he decided to start his own firm operating as
Financially Planned Settlements. Jim's firm works exclusively
for injured parties and their attorneys and combines his strong
financial background in financial planning, investment
counseling, estate planning, and insurance with structured
settlements.
As of September 1, 2007 Financially Planned Settlements became
affiliated with Creative Capital, Inc., the most sophisticated
company in the structured settlement industry, with Jim assuming
the position of Regional Vice President.
Roger
Roggenbaum, CSSC, entered the structured settlement consulting field in 1995
following a successful 20+ year career in senior claims
management positions. He has developed and enjoyed long-term
established relationships, which he and Creative Capital largely
attribute to Roger's commitment to deliver hands-on,
personalized services tailored to each client's individual
expectations.
Over the years, many trial lawyers have requested Roger's
services because of his expertise, integrity and objective
analyses and presentations. A prominent Trial attorney in
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Joseph A. Quinn, Jr. of Hourigan,
Kluger & Quinn, P.C, commented, "I have known Roger for many
years and have used his services in multiple cases. He is a very
capable and knowledgeable individual who has used his creativity
in helping me to conclude some major settlements. I have felt
very comfortable working with him because he is very honorable
and truly wants to do a good job for my clients. He has always
placed the interests of my clients ahead of his own
self-interest and has never attempted to oversell a structured
settlement when it is inappropriate."
Creative Capital and Roger share core values and guiding
objectives, which make this an excellent affiliation.
